Shaker & May
The process · Designed, made & installed

A personal kitchen.
A considered journey.

From understanding your space to fitting the final piece, we work closely with you to bring your kitchen to life.

  1. It begins with a conversation.

By phone, email or Zoom, we’ll explore your project and see whether we’re the right fit. We’ll talk through your timeline, location and budget, and look at any photos or floor plans you can share.

If you don’t have plans, we’ll arrange a site visit to take measurements and understand your space.

  2. Meet us. Explore the possibilities.

Once you feel confident we’re the right fit, we’ll invite you to our Bath showroom or Frome design studio to discuss your project in more detail.

There’s also the opportunity to tour our Frome workshop, meet the team and see projects being made. It’s a chance to get to know the people behind your kitchen, as well as the cabinetry itself.

  3. Your ideas take shape.

Working closely with you, our designers develop a comprehensive design with a mood board and detailed costings for furniture, worktops, accessories and appliances.

    Understanding the design investment

The initial design is complimentary. If revisions are needed, a £500 design fee, excluding VAT, applies and is credited towards your final kitchen contract.

You may also secure your installation date with a £5,000 deposit, excluding VAT, while continuing to refine the design throughout the process.

  4. Made for you, in Frome.

Before manufacturing, we typically carry out a pre-site survey. Your cabinetry is then handmade in our Frome workshop and hand-painted in our dedicated paint studio.

You’re welcome to visit and see your kitchen coming to life. Before delivery and installation, we’ll also carry out a pre-installation check to make sure the space is ready.
